Dr. James W. Moore to Speak at Three Public Events March 28 for Centenary College's Christian Leadership Center

SHREVEPORT, LA — Centenary College of Louisiana's Christian Leadership Center will present a series of programs March 28 with noted author and minister Dr. James W. Moore.

Dr. Moore is Abingdon Press's best-selling author, with over 36 books in print; is pastor emeritus of St. Luke's United Methodist Church, Houston, Texas; and is minister in residence of Highland Park United Methodist Church, Dallas, Texas. He is an acclaimed teacher, lecturer and mentor. A former Shreveporter, he was closely involved with establishing Centenary College's Church Careers program in 1974.

Featured events include:
—Breakfast and program with Dr. Moore, from 7:30—9 a.m. in the Whited Room of Bynum Commons at Centenary. The topic will be "Broad Casting vs. Narrow Casting: Sharing the Gospel in broad (inclusive) rather than narrow (exclusive) approaches." The program offers .5 Continuing Education Units through the Louisiana Conference of the United Methodist Church.

—Book Review, 2—3:30 p.m. at First United Methodist Church in Shreveport. Dr. Moore will present a study of one of his newest books, Rich in the Things that Count the Most.

—Evening reception and banquet from 6-9 p.m. at Asbury United Methodist Church in Bossier City, including a 6-7 p.m. reception and book signing, followed by dinner at 7 p.m. Dr. Moore will speak on "The God Whose Shoes do not Match."

Cost is $15 each for the breakfast and book review sessions and $25 for the evening reception and dinner. Tables for eight at dinner can be purchased for $200.

Cokesbury Bookstore will be on site at all events offering Dr. Moore's books for sale. All proceeds from these events will benefit the Christian Leadership Center and its expanded vision and program at Centenary.
