Centenary Cross-Country to Host 2nd Healthy Kids' Fun Run March 13

SHREVEPORT, LA — The Centenary College Cross Country Team is working to show kids that running can be fun and healthy. On Tuesday, March 13, the team is hosting its second "Healthy Kids' Fun Run," an event targeted to elementary school children in hopes of promoting running as an important part of a healthy lifestyle.

The run is strictly for fun, and every participant will receive a t-shirt, a participation award, post-race snacks, and free admission to the Ladies and Gents softball and baseball games following the event.

The event will take place on Centenary College's campus and begins at 5 p.m. The run lasts for one mile.

In 2005, the Fun Run had nearly 200 participants. The Cross Country team hopes to top that number this year.

Entry forms for the Healthy Kids' Fun Run can be picked up at the Centenary College Gold Dome or at Sportspectrum at 7607 Youree Drive. They can also be downloaded from the Centenary website at http://www.gocentenary.com/info/forms. For further information, contact Shelley Armstrong at 318-869-5277 or email.
