Matthew Campbell Benefit Concert at Centenary: Tuesday, Oct. 16

Concert Flyer

Shreveport, LA — The Matthew Campbell Benefit Concert is one of many fundraisers organized by Centenary College to support fourteen-year-old Matthew Campbell, whose congenital heart condition now finds him on an emergency heart transplant list with the Dallas Children's Hospital.

The concert will begin at 7 p.m. Tuesday, October 16, in Centenary's Brown Chapel. Featured bands are Nashville-based Mike's Chair with local openers Mark'D and Canaan. Available at the door, tickets are $5 for students, $10 for all others; additional donations are appreciated.

Matthew is the son of long-time Centenary conference and facilities coordinator Francine Campbell, whom the Centenary community has rallied around to support. In an effort to help the Campbell family with mounting financial needs, the campus has opened a donation account at Capital One Bank in Matthew's name and is holding several fundraisers, including a jeans day and this benefit concert, sponsored by the Student Government Association and student ministries at Centenary College.

Sherri Allen with KTBS Channel 3 will air her interview with the Campbell family on Monday, October 15, at 10 p.m. and again Tuesday, October 16, during the morning show from 5 a.m. to 7 a.m.
