Centenary to Host Regional SWACURH Conference

SHREVEPORT—More than 350 students will converge on the Centenary Campus as the college hosts the Regional South West Affiliate of College and University Residence Hall conference today through Sunday.

Student Leaders from schools in Arkansas, Oklahoma, Texas and Louisiana will take part in various programs and activities over the 4-day conference, including: Bridging the Generation Gap; Living in the Barracks: a Discussion for Live-In Professionals; Successful Organizational Leadership; Training On-Campus Leaders; and Prejudice and Diversity training.

We are absolutely thrilled to be hosting the largest conference in the history of SWACURH," said Kevin Wagner, Assistant Dean of Student Life. "It's important for Centenary to host this conference because it shows the entire region that big things can be done by a small school. This conference will showcase the entire Centenary and Shreveport-Bossier City communities."

An international organization covering the entire United States, Canada and parts of Mexico and Australia, NACURH is the largest student-run organization that brings students together who live in residence halls on college campuses to share ideas, resources and best practices to improve residential communities.
