Centenary Choir Concert to be Televised in Shreveport Area

SHREVEPORT, La.— For the seventh consecutive year, Willis-Knighton Health System will present the Centenary College Choir's television concert of holiday music.

Three programs are scheduled to air in the Shreveport area on KTBS TV-3: Sunday, December 16 at 5:30 p.m.; Monday, Dec. 24, at 10:35 p.m. and Tuesday, Dec. 25, at 7 p.m. on KTBS 24-hour news channel.

The 60-plus member choir is under the direction of David Hobson and will perform such Christmas classics as Ray Charles' arrangement of "Jingle Bells," "We Wish You a Merry Christmas" as arranged by John Rutter, "Climb to the Top of the Highest Mountain" and "Birthday Carol" written by David Willcocks. Missy Wise will be a featured soloist singing Mel Torme's "The Christmas Song." Of particular interest is the piece "Open Your Heart at Christmas" written by former choir alumnus James Eakin.
