Skeeter Allows Students to Scratch Head

Skeeter, a Catahoula cur rescued by the college to bring life to Centenary's recent mascot selection, had a big day on campus last Friday, meeting and greeting students just outside of the Caf.

There was much tail wagging as Skeeter began the work of adjusting to his new role at Centenary, a far cry from his most recent stint in a Houston animal shelter. So far, his job as mascot is developing enjoyably, largely revolving around looking cute and receiving love, tricks that come easily to the smart animal.

The dog did express interest in expanding his responsibilities to cover actually entering the cafeteria next time around, however.
