Annual Student Film Festival Seeks Entries

SHREVEPORT, La — Filmmakers can now submit their work to the 2008 Louisiana Film Festival: Student Division. Sponsored by Centenary College of Louisiana and the Robinson Film Center, the annual festival began in 2004 and now showcases the work of filmmakers in grades K-12.

The early bird deadline for entry is Feb. 15. Short narrative films and documentaries have made up the bulk of the festival in past years.

The festival consists of juried screenings, Q&A sessions, workshops and an awards ceremony. It will be held at Centenary College on April 4-5.

Students involved in media production classes, in the United States or abroad, are invited to submit their work.

Work will be judged by San Francisco filmmakers Chris Metzler and Jeff Springer; Jim Hayes, of Shreveport's Louisiana House of Props; and independent TV producer Heidi Bordogna, whose credits include "America's Most Wanted" and "Shark Island."
