Student Film Festival Takes Place April 4 and 5 at Centenary
SHREVEPORT, La.— The Louisiana Film Festival student division takes place at Centenary College Friday, April 4 and Saturday, April 5 in Kilpatrick Auditorium. Sponsored by Centenary College and the Robinson Film Center, young filmmakers in grades K-12 will showcase 35 student films and compete for $1,500 in prizes.
Screening sessions begin at 3:30 p.m. on Friday and conclude at 6 p.m. with a formal screening of Tom Hits His Head by guest filmmaker Tom Putnam, followed by a question and answer session. Events begin Saturday at 10 a.m. and conclude at 5 p.m. with the Awards Ceremony.
Works will be judged by San Francisco filmmakers Chris Metzler and Jeff Springer; Jim Hayes, of Shreveport's Louisiana House of Props; independent TV producer Heidi Bordogna, whose credits include "America's Most Wanted" and Animal Planet's "Shark Island"; and Dr. Jefferson Hendricks, Chair, Centenary College English Department and Faculty Advisor for the Centenary Film Society. Alejandro Heiber, USC Film School MFA program and 2007 Centenary Graduate will take part as guest student judge.
