Oil & Gas Company Establishes Endowed Scholarship for Geology Students
SHREVEPORT, La. — In order to ensure that a high-quality education is available to future generations of geologists, St. Mary Land & Exploration Company officially established an endowed scholarship, Thursday, April 10, at Centenary College of Louisiana.
St. Mary representatives Jill Klein and Rhonda Vardeman joined College Vice President for Development Kathy Fell, Director of Capital Gifts Jennifer Pearson (Geology '97), Associate Professor of Geology Dr. David Bieler, and Lecturer of Geology Dr. Jeff Agnew in the geology department of Mickle Hall of Science to mark this historic occasion
The scholarship will be awarded by the Office of Financial Aid to current geology students identified by the geology faculty.
St. Mary Land & Exploration Company was founded in 1908, incorporated in 1915, and became a public company through an initial public offering of common stock in 1992. The stock trades on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol SM.
