Orchestra Performs Benefit Concert Saturday, Sept. 27

SHREVEPORT, La.— The Hurley Orchestra from Centenary College, will perform a special concert benefiting the Firefighters Association of Shreveport-Bossier City, Saturday, Sept. 27 beginning at 8 p.m. at the Shreveport Municipal Memorial Auditorium.

Tickets for the benefit concert are $17.50 in advance or $20 at the door the night of the concert. The Municipal Memorial Auditorium is located at 705 Elvis Presley Avenue, Shreveport.

A second concert will take place Tuesday, Sept. 30 beginning at 7:30 p.m. in the Anderson Auditorium in the Hurley School of Music on the Centenary College campus. This concert is free and open to the public.

Selections for the concert will feature a collection of lighter classical works featuring faculty soloists Theresa Zale-Bridges, Tom Hundemer, Michael Scarlato, and Centenary student dancers Jennifer White and Anna Maris.

The Hurley School of Music Orchestra is comprised of approximately 40 music and non-music majors. They perform four concerts annually under the direction of Dr. Todd Gabriel. Standard chamber and symphonic orchestra repertoire, concerto and aria accompaniments, and world premier compositions are explored every year. Members of the faculty from the Hurley School of Music are featured as solo artists.
