Centenary College Democrats Host "Meet And Greet" for Democratic Congressional Candidates Sept. 30

SHREVEPORT, La.- Centenary's College Democrats will host an informal "Meet and Greet" on Tuesday, Sept. 30, with Louisiana's 4th congressional district Democratic candidates Paul Carmouche, John Milkovich, Dr. Artis Cash, and Col. Willie Banks beginning at 11 a.m. in the Student Union Building on campus. All students and community members are encouraged to attend in order to meet these local politicians. The event is open to the public.

Democratic Congressional candidates also talked about the issues on at LSUS on Aug. 20, as covered by KTBS.

"We organized this event so that students can understand the impact this election has on all of us," said Cameron Phillips, College Democrats Vice President. "We believe that such a personal encounter with these candidates will encourage students to look up the platforms, analyze the issues, and to get out and vote."

The Centenary College Democrats have been active on campus in hosting electoral convocations, student/professor discussion panels on the Iraq war, and voter registration drives. Members also volunteer with local Democratic campaigns and work with the Barack Obama campaign.
