2008 Cross Country Championships

SHREVEPORT — Adam Walton (28:00.2) led the Centenary men's cross country team with a 54th place finish, while Brittany Wilkens (23:52.5) topped the Ladies with a 52nd place finish. However, it wasn't enough as both of Centenary's cross country teams ended their season in 10th place at The Summit League Championship.

Adam Nerio (28:13.2) finished just three places behind Walton in 57th place, while Robert Poole (29:16.7) and Michael Haydel (29.16.7) ended their run in 63rd and 64th place respectively.

A pair of freshmen closed out Centenary's race day, as Jonathan Martin (30:42.6) finished in 67th place and Chris Patterson (30:48.5) was in 68th place.

On the women's side, Cara Miccoli (25:23.5) finished behind Wilkens in 65th place, while Jessica Brown (26:13.9), Natalie Holcomb (26:24.7) and Jacquelyn Batson (26:35.4) all finished behind each other in 69th, 70th and 71st place.

The final three runners for the Ladies were Mellynn Baker (27:07.6), Ashley Fallin (28:18.) and Sunny LaGrone (28:33.4). Baker finished in 73rd place, while Fallin and LaGrone closed their morning in 76th and 77th place.

Overall, Southern Utah finished first on the first men's side, while Jonah Lagat of Oral Roberts won the race. South Dakota State, meanwhile, finished in first for the women and Crystina Martinez of IPFW was the race winner.
