Centenary Students Capture Top Spots in Music Competition

SHREVEPORT, La— Three students from Centenary College's Hurley School of Music won prizes in the National Association of Teachers of Singing North Louisiana Chapter Auditions on Friday, March 20 in Ruston, La.

Competing with students from Louisiana Tech, Northwestern State University and the University of Louisiana Monroe, soprano Brittany Wood, a student of Gale Odom, won second place in the freshman category; baritone Vincent Turregano, a student of Horace English, won first place in the senior category; and baritone Donnovan Roe, a student of Janice Aiken, was the winner of the Student Adult category.

The winners sang in two separate rounds of competition. The final round had a panel of eight judges and was open to the public.
