Fraternity Holds Poker Tournament for Alzheimer's Foundation

Philanthropy Poker Tournament

SHREVEPORT, La.—The fifth annual Philanthropy Poker Tournament supporting the Ronald and Nancy Reagan Alzheimer's Foundation takes place Saturday, April 4 at Fitness Center on the Centenary College campus. Advanced tickets can be purchased from TKE members for $10 or $12 the day of the tournament.

Sponsored by the Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity at Centenary College, the goal of the event is to raise awareness about the disease that affects nearly 5.3 million people living in the United States, a disease that every 70 seconds someone will develop. Last year, the event pulled in nearly 100 players and raised $1,500. The goal this year is to match or exceed that amount.

Doors open at 11 a.m. for lunch with play starting at noon. Play consists of basic Texas Hold 'Em regulations. Prizes will be awarded to the winner of each individual starting table and all members of the final table, including a prize for the tournament champion.
