Centenary Students Inducted Into National Honor Society

SHREVEPORT, La.— Centenary College of Louisiana recently inducted 17 students into the Alpha Chi National Honor Society, a general honor society that is limited to the top 10 percent of an institution's juniors, seniors, and graduate students.

Membership in the Alpha Chi National College Honor Society is the highest academic recognition Centenary students can achieve during their course of study. Founded on February 22, 1922, Alpha Chi National College Honor Society is an American collegiate honor society recognizing achievements in general scholarship. Membership in Alpha Chi is extended to students who are in the top 10 percent of their classes. Currently, about 11,000 students are inducted as members of Alpha Chi each year through its 300 chapters. The honor society is especially popular in Texas and its surrounding states, though chapters can be found in almost every state as well as Puerto Rico.
