Memorial Service Planned For Dean David Womack on Sept. 3

SHREVEPORT, LA. — A memorial service for David Womack will be held at Centenary College's Brown Memorial Chapel on Thursday, Sept. 3 at 11 a.m. The Rev. Betsy Eaves, College Chaplain, and Dr. David Rowe, President of the College, will officiate.

A public visitation will take place on Wednesday, Sept 2 from 5-7 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 1815 Marshall St., in Shreveport.

Womack, the Dean of Students at Centenary, died August 29, at age 49. Dean Womack had been at Centenary since September 2008 and was responsible for the oversight of the departments of Career Services, Student Life programs and activities, Fitness Center operations, Residence Life, Health Services and College Counseling. He brought to Centenary more than 20 years of experience in higher education administration. Before assuming his current position, he was the Dean of Student Development at Millikin University in Decatur, Ill.

Dean Womack is survived by his wife Elizabeth Henning, and his four children, Donovan, Tyler, Mason and Landon.
