CLC Sponsors Centering Prayer Workshop Oct. 10

SHREVEPORT, La.— Alan Prater, commissioned presenter for Contemplative Outreach International, will lead an introductory workshop in Centering Prayer on Saturday, October 10. Sponsored by the Christian Leadership Center at Centenary College, this workshop takes place from 1 until 5:30 p.m. in Kilpatrick Auditorium of the Smith Building located at the corner of King's Highway and Woodlawn Avenue.

Centering Prayer is a method of silent prayer, rooted in the Christian contemplative tradition, which opens the participant to the presence and action of the Holy Spirit. This workshop will be both instructional and experiential and the cost of registration includes five optional follow-up sessions. The workshop fee is $25 and United Methodist clergy may receive .4 continuing education units for participation; registration is limited to the first 50 participants.
