Centenary Professor Addresses The Sleepy Brain At Sci-Port Jan. 21

SHREVEPORT, La. - Centenary professor Dr. Greg Butcher will be the featured speaker for The Grey Matter lecture series Thursday, Jan. 21 at Sci-Port: Louisiana's Science Center from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.

Butcher, assistant professor of neuroscience and Neuroscience Program Coordinator, will be speaking on The Sleepy Brain, discussing sleep-wake rhythms, sleep hygiene and how the brain keeps time. He will be joined by Katrina Warren, Director of Clinical Services at WellNecessities/Vital Sleep, Inc.

The illustrated program in Sci-Port's IMAX Dome Theatre will include a time for questions, an informal reception and heavy hors d' oeuvres. The event is $5 for non-members and free for Sci-Port members. Reservations are required by calling 318.424.8660.

The Grey Matters lecture series is made possible by a partnership of LSU Health Sciences Center-Shreveport and Sci-Port: Louisiana's Science Center. Grey Matters, a series of lectures and discussions on brain health and function, is supported by a grant from the American College of Neuropsychopharmacology.
