Hurley Concert to Showcase Student Talent February 8

SHREVEPORT, La—Centenary College and the Hurley Orchestra present three winners from this year's annual Hurley Concert and Aria competition in concert Monday, Feb. 8 beginning at 7:30 p.m. in the Anderson Auditorium of the Hurley School of Music.

Senior Colin McRae of Bossier City will perform the pastoral "Villanelle" ("Country Girl") for horn and orchestra by Paul Dukas. Vincent Turregano, senior from Alexandria, La., will sing the Count's aria from Mozart's "The Marriage of Figaro." Freshman Cara Lamb, a native of Richardson, Texas, will perform Mozart's Piano Concerto no. 24 in c minor.

The Hurley Orchestra will also be showcased in the beautiful impressionistic music of Frederic Delius' "On Hearing the First Cuckoo" and "Summer Night on the River."
