Can Dance: a Dansical

SHREVEPORT, La. (Centenary News Service)— Escaped Images Dance Company, the dance ensemble of the Theatre and Dance department, will team up for a one-night only concert with local gypsy-punk-country-grumble-boogie band, Dirtfoot, Friday, March 12. The event will take place at the Marjorie Lyons Playhouse on Centenary's campus.

Can Dance: a Dansical is a collaboration between the two groups and will be performed beginning at 8 p.m. Tickets are on sale at the Marjorie Lyons Playhouse box office, with prices ranging from $10 for Centenary students, and $15 for general admission. The MLP Box office is open daily from noon until 4 p.m.

"This is the first time that we have ever been able to have an event like this," said Renee Cheveallier, Director of Dance at Centenary College. "We're taking local culture and adding movement to it; we're adding a visual experience to this great band's work. It's a Dansical of sorts, and it's something that we have been working on for several months."
