Todd Tabbed as Summit League Player of the Week

ELMHURST, Ill.-Centenary's Alex Todd was tabbed as Summit League's Baseball Player of the Week after an impressive weekend performance, helping the Gents baseball team to a four-game sweep of league foe, North Dakota State.

Todd hit an astounding .692 at the plate to lead Centenary offensively. The junior has hit safely in the last five games and connected on 9-of-13 at the plate over the weekend. He belted two home runs, giving him a team-leading five on the season along with one double, a stolen base and two walks.

The San Jose, Calif., native also pounded out a 1.231 slugging percentage and drove in five and scored three runs, while maintaining a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage at shortstop. In three of the four games, he had at least two hits, including two 3-for-4 performances.
After the weekend, Todd is third-best on the team with a .327 average with 34 hits and 22 RBI. He paces the Gents in average among league opponents with a .462 clip in eight games played.

Centenary is riding a seven-game winning streak, all of which are league wins, placing them at the top of the Summit League standings with a 7-1 record and a 17-14 overall mark.

This award is the fourth for the Gents this season as juniors Keegan Acker, David Benson, and senior Cliff Shepard were all recognized earlier this year.
