About Coach David Orr

Orr is a Centenary alum that both played for the Gents and served as an assistant coach with the program for four seasons from 1999-2002. He became the Gents soccer coach in 2008.

Orr returned to Centenary directly after serving as the Director of Coaching for Texas Longhorns Soccer Club, Inc., based out of Richardson, Texas, in the Dallas area. He spent five years overseeing the management of coaches and assessing 15 staff coaches. He also developed and implemented a college recruiting program and coordinated college seminars for The Dallas Cup, one of the world's most prestigious youth soccer tournaments.

In 2004-05, Orr was the head coach at Mountain View College and he assisted with all aspects of recruiting, training, budgeting, and scheduling in the four years he spent working with former coach Jed Jones at Centenary. Under Orr and Jones' guidance, the Gents went from a 4-12 record in 2000 to a 14-5 mark in 2002.

Orr also has coaching experience in the Shreveport area, having formerly been the head coach at Captain Shreve High School from 1995 to 1998. He coached the Gators to two playoff appearances in three years. He was also the goalkeepers coach for the Dallas Texans and played professionally for the Shreveport-Bossier Lions of the USISL.

Orr donned the Gents soccer uniform during his four-year collegiate career, which culminated with his graduation in 1996. As a student-athlete, Orr helped lead Centenary to 27 wins in four years, and each year the Gents win total increased.
