Princeton Review Names Centenary College "Best Southeastern College" Again

SHREVEPORT, La.(Centenary News Service) — Centenary College of Louisiana has once again been ranked as a "Best Southeastern College" by The Princeton Review.

Princeton Review
Princeton Review named Centenary College one of "The Best 373 Colleges" and one of "The Best Southeastern Colleges"

Centenary is one of 133 institutions receiving the "Best" in the Southeastern designation in the 2011 Best Colleges: Region by Region and one of The Best 373 Colleges in the country for undergraduate education. The College has consistently been on the select list since 2004. You can find out more about our recognitions on our accolades page.

Robert Franek, Princeton Review's senior vice president — Publishing and author of the book, said, "We chose Centenary and the other terrific institutions we named as 'regional best' colleges mainly for their excellent academic programs and opportunities for students."

For this project, The Princeton Review does not rank colleges, but asks students attending the schools to rate their own schools on several issues — from the accessibility of their professors to quality of the campus food — and answer questions about themselves, their fellow students and their campus life. The rating categories include: Academics, Admissions Selectivity, Financial Aid, Fire Safety, Quality of Life and a Green rating.

The 133 colleges The Princeton Review chose for this year's "Best in the Southeast" designations are located in 12 states including: Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia.

The Princeton Review also designated 152 colleges in the Midwest, 218 colleges in the Northeast and 120 in the West as best in their locales on the company's 2011 Best Colleges: Region by Region section on its site. The publication identified 623 colleges that they feel stand out as academically excellent institutions of higher learning. Some are nationally known, while others have strong regional reputations; together they represent an inclusive cross-section of colleges.
