Kids' Cross Country Run Takes to the Trails October 16

SHREVEPORT, La. (Centenary News Service) — Centenary cross country, Red River Road Runners and Shreveport Public Assembly and Recreation (SPAR) have partnered to host a kids' cross country run on Saturday, Oct. 16 in conjunction with Centenary's annual Invitational collegiate meet.

Centenary head cross country coach Shelley Armstrong encourages all elementary and middle school runners to participate. The kids will run a 2K (1.25 miles) race at 10:30 a.m. following the collegiate men and women races.

The run will take place at the Disc Golf Course off of Clyde Fant Parkway and Stoner Ave. in Shreveport. Cost to participate, it is a $5 per middle/elementary school participant or $50 total for schools with 10 or more runners.

Participants may register up until 10 a.m. on the day of the race.
