Last lecture and reception set for two retiring professors

SHREVEPORT, La. (Centenary News Service) — A retirement reception for Dr. Rodney Grunes, professor of political science, will take place Friday, April 8, at Symphony House on Woodlawn Avenue from 3:30-5:30 p.m.

Dr. Grunes is currently the chair of the history and political science, and has taught at Centenary for 21 years, and specializes in the area American Politics and public law. He is also a former professor at Southwestern at Memphis (Rhodes College), Rutgers University, Randolph-Macon Woman's College, and The Citadel.

The public is also invited to the "Last Lecture" by Dr. Grunes, Wednesday, April 6 at the Hargrove Memorial Amphitheatre beginning at 7 p.m. He will be joined by Dr. Susan Brayford, professor of religious studies, who is also retiring from the College.

Dr. Brayford has taught at the College since 1998. She has served at assistant and associate professor of the religious studies department, and also served as Associate Dean of the College. She is a former professor at the Iliff School of Theology at the University of Denver, and the University of Colorado.
