Louisiana Escadrille at Centenary to Feature on LPB

SHREVEPORT — Tune in for a feature story on Centenary's new graduate education partnership Louisiana Escadrille on LPB this Friday, July 15, at 7:00 p.m. and again on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. on Louisiana: The State We're In.

LPB crews arrived on Centenary's campus this week to film students and faculty participating in the partnership. A collaboration among Centenary, the Council for the Development of French in Louisiana, the University of Rennes, and the Consulate General of France in New Orleans, Louisiana Escadrille offers graduate students the opportunity to complete teacher certification coursework through both Centenary and the University of Rennes, France, ultimately gaining a Master of Arts in Teaching (M.A.T.) from Centenary College.

This summer nine Escadrille students are attending a three-week course on Centenary's campus. In the fall they travel to France where they will teach in French schools while continuing their studies at the University of Rennes locally and at Centenary through distance learning.

The LPB feature includes interviews with Escadrille students as well as M.A.T. instructor Dr. Dominic Salinas and CODOFIL President Dr. William Arceneaux.
