Willis-Knighton Named Official Provider for Centenary Athletics

SHREVEPORT, LA — Centenary College athletes now reap the benefits of having Willis-Knighton as their official provider of all sports medicine services. Through a partnership between the College and Willis-Knighton Health System, Willis-Knighton Sports Medicine will make the following services available to Centenary student-athletes: on-site injury management; injury clinics; team physicals; team physician coverage; and educational programs for faculty and staff.

"I am excited that student-athletes will benefit from this partnership, and the college from its partnership with Willis-Knighton. Centenary College strives to provide the best possible care for Lady and Gent student-athletes, and Willis-Knighton's mission to improve the health and well-being of the people they serve aligns perfectly with our standards," says Dr. William Broussard, Director of Athletics.

Ellen Garrett, ATC, head athletic trainer, will provide on-site medical coverage and be supported by a team of physicians: R. Shane Barton, M.D., A.B.O.S., Victor Ursua, M.D., and Michelle Self, M.D. A recent addition to the Centenary family, Garret joined the staff as part of the new collaboration with Willis-Knighton. Garrett staffs the athletic training room, which is fully equipped with a whirlpool, multiple training tables, exercise equipment, an ultrasound machine and e-stim machines.
