Centenary Climbs to Tier One in U.S. News Ranking
SHREVEPORT, LA — Centenary College was named one of the best liberal arts colleges in the nation in the annual ranking of America's Best Colleges by U.S. News & World Report released today. Centenary climbed from the second tier last year to Tier One of the Best National Liberal Arts Colleges.
"We are thrilled to be ranked among the best," said Mickey Quinlan, Admission Director. "No other school in this area offers the personal attention and the integration of living, learning, and action like Centenary. We think our improved ranking this year goes to show that excellent students continue to seek out the Centenary experience."
Each year, U.S. News & World Report publishes the rankings to provide reliable and consistent data to help prospective students and their families in their college search. This year, data was collected from more than 1800 schools across America to determine best quality as well as best value. Centenary was ranked highly based on several factors including its strong academic reputation. It was the only college in Louisiana to receive the tier one designation.
"This improved ranking is indicative of the hard work of Centenary's faculty," said Mike Hemphill, Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs. "Every day, they are setting the tone in the classroom, building upon our academic reputation. We are fortunate to have such a talented group of professors who are dedicated to students and their success."
