Chaplain's Office and S.A.I.L. Sponsor Sex Trafficking Eradication Seminar

SHREVEPORT, LA — Fact: More than 27 million people in the world today are enslaved. The average age a girl enters into prostitution in the U.S. is 13.

The Centenary College Chaplain's Office and student group Serve Another in Love (S.A.I.L.) are partnering with the International Justice Mission (IJM) to lead a training session on how to be an effective advocate for the long-term eradication of the trafficking industry.

What: Sex Trafficking Eradication Seminar
When: Sunday, Sept. 25 at 2:00 p.m.
Where: Kilpatrick Auditorium

Two IJM representatives will cover domestic and international trafficking problems and offer immediate opportunities for action during the seminar. After training, participants will stuff gift bags for The Hub's Purchased Ministry to give to girls in the Shreveport sex industry.

Led by student Krista McKinney, S.A.I.L.'s mission is to inspire a culture of care on Centenary's campus by engaging students, faculty, and staff in the world's social needs through education and action.

IJM is a human rights agency that secures justice for victims of slavery, sexual exploitation, and other forms of violent oppression.
