  • When: Saturday, November 12, from 3:00-5:00 pm

  • Where: Centenary Fitness Center

"The Make-A-Wish Foundation is an incredible organization," said senior Macy Stockton, Chi Omega's Community Service Director and organizer of the event. "There are not a lot of charities where you actually get to meet the person you are helping, and it is a wonderful feeling to meet the child whose life you are affecting."

This year's auction will benefit a 7-year-old boy named Benjamin, who has Leigh's Disease. Leigh's disease is a rare inherited neurometabolic disorder that affects the central nervous system. His wish is to have a Crooked House Playhouse.

Chi Omega was founded in 1895 at the University of Arkansas. Over the last century, the organization has grown to over 290,000 initiates from over 172 collegiate chapters. In 2002, Chi Omega announced the Chi Omega/Make-A-Wish® alliance. Since the start of the alliance, Chi Omega has raised over $6.5 million and given over 400,000 volunteer hours.

Since 1980, the Make-A-Wish Foundation® has enriched the lives of children with life-threatening medical conditions through its wish-granting work. The Foundation is now the largest wish-granting charity in the world, with 65 chapters in the United States and its territories. With the help of generous donors and nearly 25,000 volunteers, the Make-A-Wish Foundation grants a wish every 40 minutes. The Foundation has currently granted 214,366 wishes.
