Residence Life Sponsors Pink Party

SHREVEPORT, LA — The Office of Residence Life sponsored a Pink Party for female residents on Wednesday, November 16, in the Whited Room of Bynum Commons. The party was focused on raising awareness of female-centric issues.

"I think it is important that women are knowledgeable about issues that can affect them," said Samarra Kinchen, a Cline Hall Resident Assistant, who organized the event. "Many people have no idea that by the age of 50, 80% of all women and men will have been positive for the human papillomavirus (HPV) at some point in their lives."

Female Resident Assistants set up booths with take-home materials devoted to particular issues:

The Office of Residence Life is committed to enhancing student learning and personal growth, which includes educating and building community among residents. Students who participate fully in the residential program will emerge prepared to function as leaders in a multicultural society.
