The Santaland Diaries, written by NPR commentator David Sedaris, brings viewers behind the cardboard candy canes and fake snow of Macy's Santaland in New York City. Crumpet, the not-so-friendly elf, guides the audience through the lives of Santa's little helpers as they usher clueless tourists, obsessive parents, and a slew of misbehaving children through their make-shift winter wonderland.

The foul-mouthed little elf skewers the holidays with a healthy helping of sarcasm. Humiliating circumstances and unforgettable one-liners are certainly in no short supply here, but Sedaris also weaves in a few touching moments of holiday hopefulness.

Tickets can be reserved by leaving a message on the box office voicemail at 318.869.5242. The show is rated R due to adult language.

The Marjorie Lyons Playhouse is located on Wilkinson Street between Woodlawn Avenue and Alexander Street.
