Alumni Lunch & Learn with Miles McDowell '99

SHREVEPORT, LA — Centenary's Shreveport-Bossier Alumni Chapter is hosting an "Alumni Lunch & Learn" Thursday, March 29. The featured guest speaker will be Miles McDowell '99, a geologist for Sklar Exploration. This event is open to the public.

"The 'Alumni Lunch & Learn' series is a valuable learning experience," said Saige Solomon, director of Alumni and Family Relations. "Our alumni return to Centenary and share their expertise in their areas of specialization giving us all access to trends and information that would not be available to us otherwise."

McDowell will lead a discussion on his work and current trends in the field of oil and gas. He received his bachelor of science in Geology from Centenary and a master of science from the University of New Orleans.

He began working for Sklar & Phillips Oil Company in 1996 as a geo-tech while he was still attending Centenary and continued on with Sklar Exploration when it formed in 1998. He began working full time as a geologist for Sklar in 2002 after completing his studies at UNO.

Sklarco L.L.C. and its affiliated operating company, Sklar Exploration Company L.L.C., are independent exploration and production companies owned and managed by Howard F. Sklar. Sklar's exploration and production activities center on the hydrocarbon-rich Lower Gulf Coast basins.
