Alumni Association hosts crawfish boils

SHREVEPORT, LA — The Centenary Alumni Association will host crawfish boils in Shreveport-Bossier, Washington, DC, and Austin this summer. The crawfish boils are annual events that enable Ladies and Gents to meet fellow alumni and share a traditional Louisiana meal.

"The crawfish boil is a great, family-friendly event for alumni of all ages," said Saige Solomon, Director of Alumni & Family Relations. "This provides an opportunity for our local alumni to connect with one another and with the College in a fun, casual environment."

Kim and Drew Meeder '95/'92 will host the Shreveport-Bossier crawfish boil, May 19, 3:00-7:00 p.m. The cost is $15 per person for all-you-can-eat crawfish and beverages. Children ten and under eat free.

The Washington, DC, event, Bayou Fête IX, is in collaboration with Louisiana alumni chapters for LSU, NSU, ULM, McNeese, Tulane, and Louisiana Tech. Bayou Fête is the largest crawfish boil to be held in the DC area with over 10,000 pounds available for the all-you-can-eat event.

Held in Fort Hunt Park on June 2, the DC event will feature live Louisiana music from the Dixie Power Trio. Tickets are $46.90 before May 19 and $61.90 per person afterward. Children 12 and under eat free.

The Austin event will be held June 9 at West Lake Beach. Other Louisiana schools participating in the crawfish boil include ULM, McNeese, and Northwestern. The cost is $20 per person for all you can eat crawfish, jambalaya and beverages. Children 6-10 years of age eat for $10 and children five and under eat free.
