Centenary Archives digitizes The Conglomerate (1959-1975)

SHREVEPORT, LA — Sixteen volumes of Centenary's student newspaper The Conglomerate have been added to the Archives' digital collections. Editions published from 1959-1975 are now available for online viewing.

"The mission of the Archives includes providing access to Centenary's historic records," said Chris Brown, Centenary Archivist. "Thanks to the Women's Endowment Quorum, anyone with the internet can view this material and learn about the College's history from the perspective of its own students."

All issues were scanned from cover-to-cover. Researchers can choose from a variety of formats, page through each volume choosing the "read online" option, download a complete PDF, or search the full text version.

Brown will host two instructional sessions in October about the new online collection and the use of advanced search techniques. The workshops will take place in Magale Library, Lab 1A at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, October 12, and Friday, October 26.

The digitized publication of The Conglomerate was made possible through a grant from the Women's Endowment Quorum. To view the collection, visit the Archives' digital collection at http://www.centenary.edu/library/archives/college/digitalcollections and select "Volumes (1959-1975)" in the Conglomerate section.
