Archives digitizes The Conglomerate (1975-1990)

SHREVEPORT, LA — Fifteen volumes of Centenary's student newspaper The Conglomerate have been added to the Archives' digital collections. Editions published from 1975 to 1990 are now available for online viewing.

"These newspapers are a valuable resource for learning about the college's history from the perspective of its students," said Chris Brown, Centenary Archivist. "The goal of this project is to provide online access to all existing issues of the College's student newspaper going back to 1921. We now have all issues published between 1959 and 1990 online."

Brown also encourages anyone with Centenary student newspapers published before 1959 to contact the Archives. The department's collection is missing some specific issues.

The Centenary Muses awarded a collaborative grant to the Archives and The Conglomerate staff to fund the scanning of the original papers. All issues were scanned from cover-to-cover and in full color. Researchers can choose from a variety of formats: page through each volume choosing the "read online" option, download a complete PDF, or search the full text version.

To view the newspapers, visit the online Digital Collections and select "Volumes (1959-1990)" in the section titled The Conglomerate.
