Seniors Chad Nelson, Katie James, Charles Madden, and sophomore Cadie Hancock won six awards collectively in the student divisions.

"From running cross-country to organizing philanthropy events, I've found my special niche at Centenary and have made many lifelong friends in the process," said Nelson, who won an award for his Centenary promotional video "Like a Gent." "I'm glad that I was able to share my special connection to Centenary with the judges and the entire ADDY Awards Gala audience through this video project."

In addition to her winning logo design, James also took home an ADDY and a Special Judges' Award for a campus event poster. Madden and Hancock each won awards for graphic design.

Among faculty and staff, Jessica Hawkins, Assistant Professor of Communication at Centenary and First Vice-President of the American Advertising Federation of Shreveport-Bossier, won four ADDYs, a Special Judges' Award, and the Best of Print award for work done through her freelance company BlueJay Creative. Centenary Marketing & Communication also won for the latest edition of Encircle, which takes an in-depth look at some of today's major global challenges.

"It is especially gratifying to see the students' design work recognized as being among the strongest produced in north Louisiana, competing against several other universities," said Hawkins. "This speaks well of Centenary's liberal arts education model, where honing design skills is placed in the broader context of critical thinking, with students making connections between a variety of academic areas."

Alumni Ron Viskozki '85 of Williams Creative Group, Anne Gremillion '74 of Gremillion & Pou Integrated Marketing, Corey Shadd '09 of Evergreen Life Services, and Thomas Avallone '00 of Maccentric were honored with a combined 28 awards. Photographer Neil Johnson, former Centenary Lecturer in Art and husband to alumna Cindy Gleason Johnson BA '81 MBA '11, also won three awards.
