Frost School of Business participates in Federation of Business Disciplines annual meeting

SHREVEPORT, LA — Two students and five faculty members from Centenary's Frost School of Business participated in the Federation of Business Disciplines annual meeting in Albuquerque, New Mexico. One of the most prestigious business administration academic meetings, it annually attracts over one thousand college professors from business programs across the nation.

"Our high level of student and faculty involvement at the Federation of Business Disciplines annual meeting is a testament of the exceptional dedication of our faculty members to develop our students as the future regional, national, and international leaders in business and commerce," said Dr. Chris Martin, Dean of the Frost School of Business.

Centenary seniors Joshua Scott and Greg Jackson each presented original research at the meeting: Scott, The Recent Effects of Banking Regulations on FDIC Insured Banks and Jackson, Does Technical Analysis Pay-Off in Latin America?

"This was an incredible experience that will definitely help me grow professionally," said Scott. "I'm thankful that Centenary has given me the opportunity to engage in this level of research as an undergraduate and showcase it to such an elite group of business professionals from around the country."

In addition to the student participants, five faculty members presented, served in leadership roles, or were honored at the meeting. Dr. Harold Christensen and Dr. Elizabeth Rankin delivered a paper on State Appropriations and Tuition at Public Colleges and Universities. Rankin also received the Outstanding Educator Award for the Southwestern Society of Economists and served as a session chair and discussant. Also serving as a discussant, Dr. David Hoaas presented his paper entitled Wine Humbug: An Economist's Observations. Dr. Helen Sikes served as a discussant, and Dr. Barbara Davis also attended in her role as Secretary-Treasurer of the organization.
