Presenters Dr. Dominic Salinas and JR Ramsey will each offer a fifteen-minute presentation that addresses social media issues relevant to working educators.

Salinas, a former school board administrator in both Caddo and Bossier Parish and current Director of Centenary's Department of Education, will address "The Legal Boundaries for Social Media Use in the Education Field." Ramsey, a former teacher and current Social Media Specialist at Centenary College, will discuss "Social Media/Technology Tools That Will Help You in the Classroom."

"The world of technology, especially in regards to social media, evolves quite rapidly," said Ramsey. "It's very important for those in the field of education to familiarize themselves with these changes so that they can both protect themselves and connect with students who have grown up with these new media forms at their fingertips."

In addition to the presentations, there will also be a cash bar and opportunities for networking with fellow local education professionals.

All are invited to attend. RSVP for the event by Wednesday, April 24, by calling 318.869.5115 or sending an email to email.

The fee for the workshop is five dollars and will be collected at the door.
