Centenary unveils Gold Dome Concerts
SHREVEPORT, LA — Centenary College is introducing a new concert series—Gold Dome Concerts—to bring regionally and nationally acclaimed musicians to the Shreveport-Bossier area. Gold Dome Concerts is the result of a new partnership between Centenary College, Roney & Boytim Entertainment, and Blade Studios. The first concert will feature country music stars Randy Rogers Band on May 10.
"Centenary is deeply invested in the community, and we want to do all we can to promote a vibrant local performing arts scene," said Ron Lamar, Director of Community Services. "Gold Dome Concerts will contribute to our area's historic musical legacy and provide everyone a chance to experience local, high-quality concerts."
Centenary has been host to a number of well-known acts in the past: Dionne Warwick (1967), Grass Roots (1969), Don McLean (1978), Apples in Stereo (1995), Better Than Ezra (2006), Marc Broussard (2007), and Ben Folds (2008). Upcoming shows will likewise feature a wide range of musical styles. Centenary anticipates a year-round schedule of concerts.
Gold Dome Concerts kick-off on May 10 with the Randy Rogers Band will also feature local acts Cody Cooke & the Bayou Outlaws and Jacob Davis. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m., and tickets are available online now.
