"I was excited to finally meet my fellow classmates and academic advisor," said Jessie Heflin, incoming Centenary freshman and Byrd High School graduate.

Heflin along with the other 52 students participated in small group sessions, took placement exams, and even experienced a live outdoor concert by The Molly Ringwalds. The students' parents made their own connections at receptions and student resource panels.

"Centenary is in my blood," said Heflin. "My father graduated from here, and I'm proud to be adding my name to the Centenary legacy alongside his."

Saturday afternoon, the students met with their advisors during one-on-one sessions to discuss their plans of study and academic interests.

Springboard is a two-day, on-campus session during which incoming students meet their advisors to register for class, meet classmates, finalize financial arrangements, and prepare to begin life as a Centenary student in the fall.
