Centenary names new Vice President for Finance and Administration

SHREVEPORT, LA — Centenary College has appointed Stephanie Owens to serve as Vice President for Finance and Administration and Chief Financial Officer. She first joined Centenary as interim Vice President in March 2013.

"Stephanie has brought a renewed focus to the stewardship of our financial, human, and physical plant resources and infrastructure," said Centenary President David Rowe. "She joins a leadership team that has made enormous progress in strengthening the financial stability of the College and we have every confidence that Stephanie will continue to help move us forward."

A certified public accountant, Owens has over twenty years of accounting and supervisory experience. Prior to joining Centenary, she held the position of Chief Financial Officer and Vice President of Finance at Shorter University in Rome, Georgia. At Shorter University and in her previous posts, Owens's responsibilities including direct oversight of operating budgets, investments, financing, campus operations, and auxiliary enterprises.

The choice to remain at Centenary permanently was an easy one for Owens.

"I am excited to continue on in my current role within the Centenary family," said Owens. "I quickly came to understand that this campus is one-of-a-kind with passionate and dedicated faculty, staff, students, and alumni. I look forward to helping Centenary capitalize on its current financial strength and strong academic standing."

Owens is an active volunteer, having served as a committee member for the Sexual Assault Center of Northwest Georgia, the Harbin Clinic Tony E. Warren, M.D. Cancer Center, and Nelson Price Ministries.

She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Business Administration from Northeastern State University, and holds a Master's in Accounting from Shorter University. She and her husband, Greg, have two sons, Jason and Shawn.
