Centenary, First United Methodist Church present, "Let All the World in Every Corner Sing" worship festival

SHREVEPORT, LA — The Centenary College Choir and First United Methodist Church of Shreveport are presenting a festival worship experience, "Let All the World in Every Corner Sing," Sunday, October 20, at 3 p.m. in the First United Methodist Church sanctuary.

The service will also feature First Methodist Brass and organist Ray Peebles, all under the direction of guest conductor, Dr. John Dickson, Director of Choral Activities at Louisiana State University.

Dickson is one of the premier collegiate and church choral conductors in America. He has served as Dean of the School of Music at Mercer University, Director of Choral Activities at Texas Tech University, and as Director of Choral Studies at Southern Seminary. Internationally known as a conducting pedagogue, Dickson has presented master-classes before the Association of British Choral Directors and the Russian State Music Conservatories of St. Petersburg and Moscow, served as adjudicator for international choral festivals, and conducted workshops throughout England, Wales, Scotland, Finland, France, and Canada. He has served as conductor and guest clinician for numerous state, regional, and national American Choral Director Association conventions, All-State choruses, and choral festivals around the world.

The worship experience will feature classic and new sacred anthems sung by a mass festival choir numbering more than a hundred singers as well as favorite hymn arrangements for the congregation.
