Seagraves to be inducted into Southwestern University Athletics Hall of Fame

SHREVEPORT, LA — Centenary Director of Athletics and Wellness Ronda Seagraves will be inducted into the Southwestern University Athletics Hall of Fame Saturday, September 27 in Georgetown, Texas. Seagraves is one of four inductees into the 2014 class.

A three-time Southern Collegiate Athletic Coach of the Year, Seagraves is the only coach in the history of Southwestern Athletics to win two SCAC Championships in the same year with titles in women's basketball and women's golf in the 1997-98 academic year.

Seagraves led the women's basketball team to its only crown and postseason appearance in 1998 en route to being named Coach of the Year. She claimed the 1998 and 1999 SCAC Golf Coach of the Year honor while leading the Pirates to conference championships in 1997 and 1998. Her 2000 squad was the first women's golf team to reach the postseason, finishing fifth in the nation.

Seagraves coached 10 All-SCAC players and has a 108-115 overall record in nine seasons at Southwestern with a 243-198 overall coaching record.

To be considered for the Southwestern Hall of Fame, candidates must meet eligibility requirements and are selected by the Hall of Fame committee.
