"I'm really looking forward to engaging with the students at Centenary," said Poepsel. "Whether that translates into deeper discussions in the classroom, helping students one-on-one with projects, or collaboratively working on research, I am very excited about the rich academic environment Centenary has to offer."

Poepsel comes to Centenary from Truman State University in Kirksville, Missouri where he served as Assistant Professor of Psychology. He earned his Ph.D. in Experimental Psychology with a Social Emphasis from the University of Arkansas. His dissertation Are All Voices Created Equal?: Conditional Indirect Effects of Directness of One's Voice on Perceived Uncertainty and Performance examined the effects of the amount of voice one is given while making decisions in a group setting.

Poepsel earned his Master of Science in Psychology at the University of Central Missouri and graduated Magna Cum Laude with his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from William Jewell College in Liberty, Missouri. His research interests include intergroup cooperation, social dilemmas, procedural justice, and redevelopment and repopulation in neighborhoods and cities.
