Summer Orientation and Registration kicks off this week

SHREVEPORT, LA — The first of three on-campus Summer Orientation and Registration (SOAR) sessions begins this Wednesday, June 18 and ends Thursday, June 19. During the two-day sessions, incoming students have the opportunity to learn more about Centenary in Paris, meet their advisors, register for class, mingle with classmates, finalize financial arrangements, and prepare to begin life as Centenary students in the fall.

"Not only will we have a great time, but students will learn what being a Centenary student is all about, and leave with their student ID and a class schedule," said Ashlie Daigle, Director of Student Involvement. "With those two things in hand, coming to college really becomes a reality."

Parents will also learn important information about financial aid and resources for them and their student, and hear from current students about their Centenary Experience.

"My leadership team members and mentors have been working very hard and are ready to meet their new classmates and help them get acclimated to their home away from home," said Daigle. "I am lucky to work with a talented group of student leaders who bring so much energy to SOAR."

Returning student leaders will help facilitate check-in, small group discussions, and activities throughout the program.

The remaining sessions will take place June 22-23 and June 25-26. For more information, visit the webpage here.

Centenary in Paris is part of the college's new August immersive segment of the fall semester. The intensive learning experience will allow first-year students to create strong bonds with classmates and the college. For more information, visit www.centenary.edu/paris.
