Film Society announces fall 2014 programming
SHREVEPORT, LA — Centenary College's Wilson Chair of American Literature and Faculty Director of the Centenary Film Society Dr. Jefferson Hendricks has announced the Film Society's fall 2014 programming schedule.

Fall programming begins Thursday, September 18, at 7:30 p.m. at the Robinson Film Center with a screening of Oil & Water, a documentary showing two boys coming of age in the middle of one of the world's worst toxic disasters: the contamination of Ecuador's Amazon region as a result of controversial oil drilling.
Filmmaker Francine Strickwerda will be in attendance to introduce the film and lead a panel discussion afterwards. Panel members will include Shreveport City Council representative Oliver Jenkins; Professor of Economics at Centenary's Frost School of Business Dr. David J. Hoaas; and Associate Dean, Professor, and Chair of the Biological Sciences Department at Louisiana State University Shreveport Dr. Dalton Gossett.
Oil & Water is co-sponsored by the Frost School of Business at Centenary College, as part of their on-going "Reel Business" film series at the Robinson Film Center.
The Centenary Film Society fall 2014 lineup consists of two series: "Southern Circuit Tour of Independent Filmmakers" with the Robinson Film Center and "Art Works: Artists and Art on Film" focusing on photography in film with The Friends of the Meadows Museum.
All films will be shown at the Robinson Film Center, 617 Texas Street in downtown Shreveport, with regular Film Center admission prices.
