America's Singing Ambassadors will resume their spring tour on Thursday, January 15, when they travel to Lafayette to perform at the First United Methodist Church. That performance will be the first on a five-day schedule:

Thursday, January 15
— First United Methodist Church, Lafayette, Louisiana, at 7 p.m.
Friday, January 16 — Lafayette High School, Lafayette, Louisiana, various classes
Friday, January 16 — Centenary Historic Site, Jackson, Louisiana, at 6:30 p.m.
Saturday, January 17 — Henning Memorial United Methodist Church, Sulphur, Louisiana, at 6 p.m.
Sunday, January 18 — First United Methodist Church, Lake Charles, Louisiana, at the morning service
Sunday, January 18 — Memorial Drive United Methodist Church, Houston, Texas, at 7 p.m.
Monday, January 19 — Cross Bayou Chapel, Camp Bethany, Louisiana, at 7 p.m. ($25 ticket required)

This year the Choir will travel to the historic site of Centenary College where the institution traces its roots to an 1825 charter by the State of Louisiana. Then known as the College of Louisiana, it was located in the village of Jackson, Louisiana. Tuition was $50 per year while room, board, and firewood were $7 per month.

"We try to schedule a concert at 'Old Centenary' every three to four years, as it allows every choir student the opportunity to connect to Centenary's past and perform at a unique outdoor historic venue," said Dr. David Hobson, A.C. "Cheesy" Voran Choir Director. "I believe the concert also embraces and honors those in the Jackson community who continue to support the Centenary Historic Site."

The Choir is affiliated with Centenary's Hurley School of Music and offers scholarships to all members. Members audition November through February for the following term. Persons wishing to audition should contact the director of the choir to arrange an appointment.
