College to host family-friendly parade watch party

SHREVEPORT, LA — The Centenary College Alumni Association will host a family-friendly Highland Parade Watch Party for friends and alumni of the college on Sunday, February 15, at 1 p.m. in front of the Sam Peters Admission Building.

"Centenary has a long tradition of being an active member of Shreveport and the Highland neighborhood," said Director of Community Services, Wayne Hogue. "Our institution has been part of this neighborhood since 1908, so there is a powerful symbiotic relationship. The Highland Parade Watch Party is an opportunity for us to do something fun with our neighbors while enjoying what has become a really great and wholesome parade and event."

This family-friendly celebration will feature free hamburgers, hotdogs, and a bouncy house for children. Sodas and water will be for purchase along with Centenary apparel and merchandise. The event is free and open to the public.

The parade will also feature several members of the Centenary community as Highland Krewe royalty:

Free parking will be available on a first-come, first-served basis in the lot at the corner of Centenary and Rutherford. Visitors are encouraged to bring their own chairs. To preserve the family friendly atmosphere, no alcohol will be allowed at this event.
