Annual Lagniappe Benefit Concert set for February 23

UPDATE: Due to weather, the concert has been rescheduled to Monday, March 2, at 8 p.m.

SHREVEPORT, LA — Centenary's Sigma Alpha Iota (ΣAI) sorority will host a benefit concert on Monday, February 23, at 7:30 p.m. in Anderson Auditorium to raise money and collect instrument donations for underprivileged children. The free concert is open to the public.

"The Lagniappe Benefit Concert is an annual event that benefits lower income schools," said Laura Deen, President of the Eta Lambda chapter. "So far we have an eclectic mix of acts this year including musical performances, short story readings, and an art display."

Members of the Centenary community are still invited to showcase all forms of visual and performing arts including musical numbers, monologues, poetry readings, art work, and set models. Submissions may be made until Friday, February 20 by contacting Deen at ldeen@my.centenary.edu or Rebecca Vacha at rvacha@my.centenary.edu.

ΣAI is an international honor music sorority for women. The organization promotes interaction among those who share a commitment to music and adheres to the highest standards of citizenship in school, community and fraternity life.
